Designing a Pool with an Outdoor Kitchen
The pool is the centerpiece, but the outdoor kitchen is where everyone gathers. Designed together, they create a true backyard resort for entertaining. Here is how we approach a pool-and-outdoor-kitchen project as one integrated environment.
Design It as One Project
When the pool, patio, and kitchen are designed together, the materials, sightlines, and traffic flow all align — the grill is convenient to the seating, the kitchen does not block the view of the water, and the hardscape ties everything into the home. Adding a kitchen after the pool almost always looks and works like an afterthought.
Zones That Work
A good layout separates the wet zone (pool and lounging), the cooking zone (grill, counters, refrigeration), and the dining and lounge zones, with clear circulation between them. A covered structure or pergola over the kitchen extends use into sun and light rain.
Materials for Our Climate
We build kitchens on a properly drained, freeze-thaw-ready base with stone or porcelain counters, masonry or stainless cabinetry, and finishes that coordinate with the pool coping and patio. Durable materials matter in Pennsylvania winters.
Build It With the Pool
Running gas, water, electric, and drainage is far simpler during the pool build than after. As an in-house design-build team we handle the pool, hardscape, kitchen, and pool house together — one team, one schedule, one cohesive result.
