Commercial & Community Pool Construction

A pool that serves two hundred residents is a different build from one that serves a family. JHL Pools designs, builds, and renovates commercial pools across Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties — HOA and community pools, apartment and condominium amenity pools, and hotel and club pools. The construction is what our crews do every day; the engineering, the approvals, and the calendar are what change.

Engineered for the bather load. A residential pool is sized to a family's habits; a commercial pool is sized to a calculated bather load — filtration and circulation rated to turn the full volume over on a required cycle, drain and return placement that moves water through the whole basin, and automated chemical control that holds sanitizer and pH when fifty people get in at once. Deck width, entries, and depth markings follow code, not preference.

Plan review, inspection, and accessible entry. Pennsylvania regulates a pool like this as a public bathing place, so the drawings go through health-department review and the finished pool is inspected before it opens. Accessibility comes with that — an accessible means of entry, usually a lift or a sloped zero-depth entry, and two of them on larger pools. We prepare the drawings, make the submissions, and coordinate the inspections.

Built between seasons. An amenity closed in July is a problem for the property manager, so the schedule runs backwards from the opening date: shell in fall, equipment and deck over winter, startup with room to spare. Renovation runs the same calendar, and it is much of what this market needs — 1970s and '80s pools with sound shells but failing plaster, cracked gutters, obsolete equipment, and no accessible entry.
